Honouring our communities at the Black History Month Community Day
What a fantastic day on Saturday at the Black History Month Community Day at the Civic Offices in Epping. 🖤💛💚
The theme, "Honouring our Communities", really came through. There were cultural performances, inspiring community speakers, and some brilliant artwork, stories and poems from the art and writing competition on display.
For me, the highlight was the conversations.
I had some great discussions with partners and local councillors about how we keep building connection, trust and a real sense of welcome across the district. Days like this are where those relationships grow.
A huge thank you to the Epping Forest Community Safety Partnership and the Epping Forest & Brentwood Independent Advisory Group for Essex Police for organising such an inclusive, welcoming event, and to everyone who came along and took part.
Looking forward to carrying these conversations on.
