Havering AMPLIFY is a school-based youth wellbeing and engagement programme delivered by Youth Unity CIC, inspired by the Havering #BeWell Youth Engagement Project.
The programme supports young people across secondary schools in Havering to explore mental health, emotional wellbeing, relationships, confidence, resilience and youth voice in a safe, supportive and creative environment.
Through trusted relationships, trauma-informed practice and structured group workshops, Havering AMPLIFY helps young people reflect on their experiences, build emotional awareness and share their views on the issues affecting them in school, at home and in their wider community.
About the Programme
Havering AMPLIFY is delivered through an 8-week group workshop programme. Each session creates a safe space for young people to talk openly, explore wellbeing themes and develop tools to support their emotional resilience.
The programme is designed to give young people the confidence to speak up, share ideas and contribute to future wellbeing initiatives across Havering.
What Young People Explore
Across the 8 weeks, young people take part in sessions covering:
Week 1: Belonging and Mental Wellbeing
Week 2: Stress Management and Coping
Week 3: Emotional Awareness and Regulation
Week 4: Resilience and Growth Mindset
Week 5: Healthy Relationships and Boundaries
Week 6: Self-Care and Support Pathways
Week 7: Vision Boards and Creative Expression
Week 8: Podcasting, Reflection and Next Steps
Youth Voice Through Podcasting
A key part of Havering AMPLIFY is giving young people creative ways to express themselves.
Towards the end of the programme, young people take part in podcast-style discussions where they can reflect on what they have learned, share the challenges affecting young people today and raise messages for schools, communities and decision-makers.
These conversations help capture real youth voice in a meaningful and creative way.
Creative and Wellbeing Activities
The programme also includes creative activities such as vision boards, reflection work and group discussion. These help young people explore their identity, goals, confidence and sense of belonging.
Where possible, young people’s creative work can be displayed within the school environment to celebrate their voices, ideas and achievements.
Supporting Girls and Safe Conversations
Havering AMPLIFY can also include female-led sessions to support conversations around confidence, healthy relationships, personal safety and Violence Against Women and Girls.
These sessions are delivered sensitively, with safeguarding at the centre of all discussions.
Recognition and Celebration
At the end of the programme, each young person receives a Youth Unity Certificate of Engagement, recognising their participation, contribution and commitment throughout the workshops.
