The Youth Unity Hub will be visiting Pitsea on Thursday 6th & Thursday 13th April , and then back again in June on Tuesday 30th May & Thursday 1st June.
BoothBus will be present for those whose passions lie in music and media. The bus is a fully equipped with a fully functioning studio and acting as a space where young people can learn the fundamentals on how to make beats, edit and create short film.
A safe space for young people to have fun in environment where they can be themselves.
We will also work as a service to signpost both parents and young people to services in the local area.
Heart of Pitsea is a 10-year local community project dedicated to everyone who lives, works or is educated within the defined Heart of Pitsea Boundary.
The project is run by a partnership of volunteers, who are all residents within this area. Their local knowledge, combined with their enthusiasm, ambitions and skills come together to create a dynamic team that is passionate about Pitsea. And the best bit? It is down to them how Heart of Pitsea spends its funding.
Ah funding, now that’s where things get a little bit complicated! Heart of Pitsea has been granted funding through the National Lottery Community Fund and this is managed by an organisation called Local Trust under a scheme called ‘Big Local’. That means we are a ‘Big Local’, one of 150 projects dotted around England.
The great thing about being a Big Local is we aren’t told what to do by our local authority, the government or any national body! But we do receive support from a number local of organisations including Basildon Council, the NHS Basildon and Brentwood Clinical Commissioning Group, Essex Youth Services and the Basildon, Billericay and Wickford Council for Voluntary Service.
