Frontline experience where it matters most

Wayne is one of Youth Unity's longest-standing team members. For over four years he has worked intensively with young people facing significant risk, exploitation and complex challenges — helping them move away from crime and harmful environments.

His strength lies in building trusted, consistent relationships, often with young people who have disengaged from traditional services. Through a non-judgemental, relationship-led approach, Wayne creates the conditions for real change — supporting young people to make safer decisions and access positive opportunities.

Case study

A turning point after release

Following his release from prison, one young man engaged with Wayne at a critical turning point. Through consistent mentoring, he was supported to rebuild his confidence, challenge his behaviours, and access employment.

He is now in stable work, positively engaged, and on a sustained pathway away from crime.

Relationship-led intervention remains one of the most effective tools in reducing risk and supporting long-term change.
